Carob Doggie Treats
Carob stands in safely for chocolate — which is toxic to dogs — giving this treat a rich, cocoa-like flavor dogs and owners can both enjoy making.
Carob Doggie Treats

Yield: About 20 small treats
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1/4 cup carob powder
1/2 cup pumpkin puree (unsweetened)
1 egg
2 tbsp vegetable oil
Directions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment.

Whisk together flour and carob powder in a bowl.

In a separate bowl, mix pumpkin puree, egg, and oil.

Combine wet and dry ingredients into a firm dough.

Roll and cut into shapes, then bake 20 minutes until firm; cool before serving.
Storage Tip
Store in an airtight container for up to a week, or freeze for up to two months.
