Mange Parasite Treatment
A soothing colloidal oatmeal soak some owners use alongside veterinary mange treatment to calm irritated skin — mange requires an accurate vet diagnosis and prescription treatment; this is a supportive comfort measure only, never a replacement. Borax and hydrogen peroxide dips are sometimes suggested online but are not vet-recommended — borax is toxic if licked or ingested, so this recipe leaves it out.

Ingredients
1 gallon warm water
1 cup plain (unscented) colloidal oatmeal, fully dissolved

Confirm a mange diagnosis and treatment plan with a vet first.

Dissolve the colloidal oatmeal completely into the warm water.

Soak or sponge over affected areas as directed by a vet, avoiding the eyes, nose, and mouth.
3.
Let sit for about 10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly and pat dry.
4.
Continue the full course of any vet-prescribed medication regardless of how the skin looks.
