Black Skin Disease (Alopecia X)
A coat and skin condition documented in the breed causing hair loss and skin darkening; manageable with veterinary guidance though not always fully reversible.
Preventive Care
Using a harness instead of a collar for daily walks meaningfully reduces strain on this breed’s sensitive trachea. Daily tooth brushing and regular dental cleanings help offset crowded-teeth risk. Any persistent coughing or unexplained hair loss is worth a prompt vet visit.
