Dog Treat Recipe
Post-Walk Tick Check Rinse
Less a recipe than a routine — a simple rinse-and-check habit after any walk through tall grass or wooded trails, when ticks are most likely to hitch a ride.
Post-Walk Tick Check Rinse
Prep: 10 minutes
Bake: No cooking required
Yield: One routine check
Ingredients
Plain warm water
A fine-toothed comb
Directions
0.
Immediately after the walk, rinse the legs and belly with plain warm water to remove loose debris.
1.
Run a fine-toothed comb slowly through the coat, checking especially around ears, armpits, and between toes.
2.
Feel for any small bumps that could be an attached tick.
3.
Remove any tick found promptly and correctly with fine-tipped tweezers, pulling straight out.
4.
Note the date and location on the body if a tick is found, in case symptoms appear later.
Storage Tip
Not applicable — this is a routine, not a stored product.
